Computer Problems: Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the new hard
disk to install windows. I continue working in Limbo. Pray for me. We are
undergoing some real financial hardship this month with health problems (medical
tests, medicine, etc), computer problems, low support this month, and our church
is also having lower income this month for some reason. Please pray for me. I
think I need to get a completely new computer. The new hard disk also gave me an
S.M.A.R.T. error on boot up with the new drive (unformatted still), so I think
it is a short in the motherboard, which is just about the same as buying a whole
new computer. As such I will try to reuse the memory, CPU, case, and Power
supply and rebuild a new computer around that, but "no money" this month so it
will have to wait until next month. I always have my stand-by Toshiba laptop
with 900MB of hard disk and 32 MB of RAM memory. It is a bit slow, but it does
run TheWord even so. Please pray for this situation and our ministry.

MAJOR COMPUTER PROBLEMS - Is bad when your hard disk goes clunk, clunk, clunk, whirrrrrrrrl, and then a blue screen? Well mine did that last week, and it wouldn't boot afterwards. I managed to disable the S.M.A.R.T. from the BIOS and access the hard disk again (but on borrowed time), and I am copying everything off of it, and have purchased another external hard drive (300GBs) and another internal one (300 GB). So my office looks like a computer graveyard, 2 Nobreaks, 5 ink jet printers, 2 color laser printers, 2 b/w laser printers, and now a stack of 5 hard disks, all paperweights (not useable). Between a business around the corner that uses welding equipment all day without any filters that ruin my computer equipment, complete blackouts sometimes for half a day, and viruses and other problems, it is a wonder I even can do anything on my computer. I have replaced the battery on the No Break in January and it now no longer gives me even 5 seconds of power when the power goes out. (I am looking at putting a motorcycle battery on the thing to see if it will give me something more than a regular battery). I would appreciate your prayers for this ministry because (1) Satan wants me to spend my time on reformatting and installing programs, and running around town trying to repair my equipment instead of working on Bible related things, (2) all of this costs me money. Thanks to our merciful Lord, I got the hard disk back on line enough to get the information off of it. But I haven't done any system wide backups since 2008, i.e. nothing of TheWord is backed up. I have Mozy.com an internet service which does backups to their servers, and it would have cost me $15 per DVD to get it back for a system wide failure like I had. I have 80 Gigabytes uploaded on their servers. Thankfully God has allowed me to get it working again, and several tech people here in Mexico have told me not to cut off the computer, and copy off everything before it does die permanently.
Just for your information, I have 38 Gigabytes of module files in e-Sword version 8, version 9, or TheWord. To make a module there are around 20 some steps before I can get it onto this site. Even though most are not complicated or time consuming, it is a procedure that I use checking copyright, putting information into it, making the exe installer out of the module, making/updating the webpage that lists it, uploading everything, etc. The procedure uses some 4-5 different programs for different parts and it can get complicated (i.e. something doesn't get done, or a file get "lost" in the process, or just goes part of the way, power outage, etc and the file doesn't get upload. I have 2 sites for e-Sword (Spanish/English) and 2 sites for TheWord (Spanish/English) and I had a mirror (copy of the site) for each of them. Three of these sites are now unavailable because the person who donated the sites disappeared and won't respond to my emails, and I cannot pay the hosting they were paying for nor move the sites, so they are probably lost forever. It is a tremendous fight, or even better a war, just to get this site and modules on the Internet. Please consider praying regularly for us. A donation or two wouldn't hurt at all either. I pay for all of this out of my pocket, and donations from English speaking people for my website is usually once every couple of months, and not that much when they give. After bad experiences, I am no longer accepting other people to pay my Website registration fees nor hosting. If you want to give, give in cash. Sorry, I cannot contend with losing websites because people suddenly disappear.
That is all the bad news. The good news is that I organized what was haphazard and put everything in a nice orderly file structure on my hard disk before copying it off. So (with some duplication) there are 3464 twm files, 670 Bible modules. So there is some duplication of files there, but that is what I am trying to work through to get processed and onto my site for TheWord. (I don't work in e-Sword anymore). I currently only have 225 modules on my English TheWord website although some of these modules may have up to 100 books in them (and converting from e-Sword, that would be 100 files), and I estimate that I have on my site or links to modules on other websites of about 753 books (as of March 10, 2010). I am working on converting books from other formats (TXT, PDF, HTML, Microsoft Word DOC, etc) into TheWord format also, and that is on hold basically until I can get what is already in TW module format (converted from E-Sword) corrected and uploaded. Costas Stergiou is working on some things, and I am helping him with those things. Hopefully we will have Pulpit Commentaries ready soon, and also Gaebelein's commentary series. I am working on some stuff in Spanish and
trying to get the kinks out of my computer (blue screens of death). Still not
working right all the time. I am working on the Pulpit Commentary module and
about halfway through the NT. But it is laborious to break every chapter into
every single verse of the Bible. I have to copy and paste for every verse in the
Bible. Colossians through Revelation is about done, and I am working on the rest
of it.

third party helped me put up this website, and they have become unavailable to
me, and apparently they haven't paid the hosting fees. I am still trying to fix
this situation, and if I do get control back of the domains, I will repost the

If somebody was to give you 78 books for your religious library, most costing between $25-$50, wouldn't you consider it proper to invite him and his family out for a hamburger or something? Why don't you donate the price of 1 book, or a meal for me and my family (4 of us) as a way to say "thanks David, keep the good work going"? Since June 2009, this English TW module news page has been accessed 18,000 times. The Spanish new modules page has been accessed 7,000 times. Do you realize that I make 100 English book modules for every 1 book module in Spanish, and that donations come in sometimes 1-2 per month, about 4 at most, and some months none, but none are over $35 dollars usually, and that about 10 Mexicans donate for every 1 USA American donation! Why do I even bother to post these modules for you guys if you are not grateful for what I am doing? Shouldn't you donate at least once a year or several times per year? (Actually it is ridiculously little to donate the price of 1 book and pick up 80-100 books, and those being electronic books that you can search and scan in this wonderful program!)

Personal Note: Please pray for me, and this part of my ministry. I am a missionary that lives by donations from churches, and my main ministry is evangelism and church planting, and we have a small church of about 50 people in southern Mexico City. Because of this site, I am receiving very strong pressure from some areas to remove this site completely from the Internet or my income will be strongly affective in a negative manner, i.e. one church has requested this or they will cut their support for me. This represents about 20% of my total income. Apparently they don't want this content available to the general Christian public. I don't really understand why, because it would only negatively affect Christian book publishers, but that is what is going on. Donations from all my Internet sites total about 5% on a good month (and almost all of that comes from Mexican people living in Mexico, 1 single person from the US who gives monthly for this). So, if you want this ministry to continue (i.e. you like seeing new modules every month), consider a donation every couple of months or so to keep this thing going. That would help me greatly.

I will be in Los Angeles California preaching in Iglesia Bautista Fuente
de la Salvación in 18403 Shermanway, in Recide CA. So I will basically be taking
that week /and the next week to rest) off from making modules. I am working on
the Pink Library, tagging the
books that I have, and the Lord willing I will have that ready the week I
return. Once I post that library, I will probably work on the individual books
by Arthur Pink to post them separately for those who don't want the entire
library (which is very large, like 50MB). I also have posted (below in Aug
24-28) Pink's religious journal, Studies in the Scriptures, which I had to take
out of the Pink library because of the size it was growing to be. I also have
180 articles and sermons by Pink in his library, and I still have to search the
Internet recently to find new stuff on Pink which is being uploaded by people
every day.
