Among the many subjects he treats are: the manifold abuse of speech, lying, uncharitable truth, of flattery and boasting and obscene talk. Many of the suggestions on dealing with people are valid.
- Alphonus Uniformity with Gods Will This author is from the 1700s, but the topic is very today. He then asserts that God desires our happiness, and that there are "helps" that we can do to examine our lives and bring us into this spiritual position and practice. Without it, we will end up in "spiritual desolation" (Chapter 6).

- American Bible Society American Bible Union NT The American Bible Union was formed in 1850 by Baptist members of the American Bible Society (ABS) who wanted the Society to produce translations that, in their view, more accurately reflected the original text. One place where they ran into conflict with other members of the ABS was over the translation of the Greek word baptize. Most English translations (including the Authorized or King James Version) simply transliterate the word rather than translate it as “immerse.” Between 1852 and 1861, they published a series of quarto edition that contained proposed revisions for most of the New Testament. A complete New Testament was published beginning in 1862 with a Second Revision published in 1865. A series of Old Testament volumes was also published between 1856 and 1884. In 1883 the American Bible Union ceased operation and turned over their activities to the American Baptists. The American Baptists continued their work and published an Improved Edition of the New Testament in about 1891 (this was published in two version – in one baptize is translated as immerse and in the other it is left as baptize.) They also published a complete Bible in 1912. Good News Translation in Today's English Version A very contemporary translation that is designed to be easy to read for those who are not familiar with the Bible. Also known as the Good News Bible, this translation of the Bible follows a dynamic equivalence theory of translation. Published in 1966, revised in 1992.

From the Webmaster: Read excellent write-up of theWord on C-Net about theWord!
I don't like the fact that I didn't find theWord earlier...like years ago!!! It's great! Wow! and Thanks to the software writers/developers!...is about all I can say... :) The program is incredible as are the add-on modules! I'm still telling people about theWord and of the hearts of the people who are involved in it's existence.... Though there are areas and features of the software that will definitely take some learning, other areas that once you work with the software a short while "clicks" with you, but a good portion of the features are intuitive and seem to have a natural "thought" flow to them. I've only been using theWord for a few days, but I've had no (ZERO) problems with the software. The program itself downloaded and installed without a hitch. The "modules" that you download (bibles, books, etc.) have all downloaded and imported easily. It is a very smooth running program. I even tried my hand at building a module/book from a Gutenberg text file...nothing fancy, but it worked. :) Anyhow, no problems and easy installation and initial setup. Excellent, excellent software package! I'm thinking about burning a few CD's and handing out to some folks at church and work. ;)
