About

Hi,

My name is David Cox, and I am a pastor and missionary in Mexico City, Mexico since 1986. Basically I got involved in Bible software because I needed to help Mexican men in my church study the Bible, and their financial resources are about nil. As such, I started searching for free things on the Internet for them, as well as for me (because my resources aren’t much better than nil), and I found e-Sword free Bible software. I used that and was active in that community for about some 4-5 years, making about 1200 modules (there a module is a single book put into the format of the program).

I was in contact with Rick Meyers, the programmer, and I got tired of making requests that were never answered, much less new features put into the program. I found theword in searching for e-Sword modules, and I found that my list of some 40  features I wanted in e-Sword were already all implemented in theword, so I decided to migrate to that program. I haven’t regretted that at all since then.

I have an old site http://www.davidcox.com.mx/twm (English)and http://www.davidcox.com.mx/twm (Spanish) where I put my finished modules, and made them available to the public. Since that time (about 2007-2008) I have continued to find public domain and works under copyright used with permission to add to my library collection.

In fact I have about 2-3 gigabytes of e-Sword modules I am converting to theword. I try to make new modules every week. In this site, I am currently running about posting 40-50  modules/books each week. In theword, a single module can contain many books by an author, so I make libraries where everything I find by an author, sermons, articles, quotes, biography, books, etc. are all in a single library module for that author.

Note that these modules need the theword free Bible software program to be read. This program can be downloaded from http://www.theword.net.

I will post as many of these modules as possible until I get my existing library up on the new site (started really the end of January 2011). I am hoping that this new site will (1) be easier to use, (2) attach SEO to put each book/module high in the Google listings, and (3) be a spiritual blessing to those that study God’s word.

If you have comments, questions, doubts, or suggestions, please write me or post a comment and I will try to answer it.
